The beginnings of ktc Handling Technology GmbH

The first expansion
Move to Schorndorf and start production of tensioners

The beginnings of ktc GmbH
Precision technology Krausse is founded in Straubenhardt. Initially specializing in punching and embossing parts, the later realignment to the machining sector established the manufacturing plant on the market.
1960
The first developments
For the first time, special machine tools and assemblies for machine tools are also manufactured.
1973
Beginning of the era of tool changers
Tool changeequipment is the first manufacturer on the market to be produced
1976
The beginnings of Staudenmaier Konstruktionen GmbH
Siegbert Staudenmaier founds the Staudenmaier constructions as a sole proprietorship. The company is based in Herlikofen, a suburb of Schwäbisch Gmünd. The construction and detail work is carried out on the drawing board.
1989
You have to reinvent yourself again and again
For the first time, the design office is introducing a CADAM CADAM system from IBM. Staudenmaier Konstruktionen GmbH has been using the latest CAD solution since then. Currently, Pro Engineer and Solid Edge are used.
1996
The beginning of a success story
The current owner and managing director Wolfgang Schiek takes over the precision technology Krausse in Straubenhardt and thus sets the foundation for today’s group of companies.
2000
Foundation of ktc Gmbh
The acquisition of gtc Gastechnic culminates in the founding of ktc GmbH. The production areas will be expanded at the end of the day. ktc GmbH is now active in machining and assembly of precision parts and assemblies.
2001 - 2002
Quality, Quality, Quality
ktc GmbH in Straubenhardt is certified in 2001. The following year, the Schorndorf site is certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 and VDA 6.4. Today we are certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 and are constantly working to improve our high quality for the customer even further.
2003
Pick-up disc magazine
Development of pick-up disc magazines for horizontal centres.
Presentation of the newly developed high-speed automotive change system
2005
The foundation stone for the Group
Wolfgang Schiek takes over Kelch Handling Technik GmbH in Schorndorf. The result is ktc Handling technik GmbH, which is an independent unit active in the development and manufacture of tool changing systems for machining machines.
2006
Fresh wind in construction
Susanne Staudenmaier Dipl.-Ing. (FH) takes over the sole management of Staudenmaier constructions.
2008 - 2009
Expansion of the portfolio
With the new development of pallet and shelving systems, ktc Handling Technology is able to offer its customers new tool change systems. A new variant of the tool changer for drilling rigs is also offered.
2009
Changes in legal form
Staudenmaier Konstruktionen GmbH is registered in the commercial register. Susanne Staudenmaier is the sole shareholder and managing director.
2011
The Group continues to grow
Takeover of Staudenmaier Konstruktionen GmbH by Wolfgang Schiek. This is followed by the integration into the premises of ktc Handhabungstechnik GmbH in Schorndorf. Staudenmaier Konstruktionen GmbH specializes in the construction of constructions for equipment, tools, devices and special machines in the automotive industry and general mechanical engineering.
Foundation of ktc Handling Technology Ltd. in Changchun/China for the distribution and manufacture of products of ktc Handling Technology GmbH in China.
2013
Ignition transformers
Acquisition of the production of ignition transformers from Siemens AG. The integration expands the product range of industrial gas use.
2013 - 2014
New patents
Presentation of the first servo quick-change transmission. Construction of a three-dimensional lyrised chain. Development of a meanderable chain storage system with the smallest footprint. We are constantly looking for new solutions for machine tool construction and prove this every year.

Growth
The design office continues to grow and in the meantime counts 10 employees
2016
Reclining pick-up chain
A particularly space-saving solution for a lying chain as a pick-up magazine. The HSK-A63 tools are held via our proven plastic clamps. The entire magazine enters the machine horizontally in order to offer or pick up the tools from the spindle. The distinctive concave chain guide serves to be able to immerse as far as possible into the machine.
2018
Succession
The son of the managing director, Maximilian Schiek, joins ktc GmbH as Managing Director in the family business. The foundation stone for the succession of the management in the group of companies is thus set.
